I have recently set up an aquarium (110litres - 4 feet) and decided to go for the Cycling with Fish as I am too impatient to do the Fishless Cycling!! So far I have added 6 zebra danios (as well as various plants) and they appear to be doing fine. I have also been adding a product called STRESS ZYME which is supposed to add bacteria to control Nitrites and Ammonia. My questions are

1) by adding this product does it mean that I won't get the spikes that are frequently mentioned on other posts?

2) When shall I do my first water change?

Thanks for any advice offered.

Stress zyme doesn't really work-you can't save bacteria in a bottle. You will most likely still get the spikes. As for water changes, I don't know. Sorry.

How long since you set up and added your fish?

the first water change should be 50% 7 days after adding the fish.
of course this can be earlier if test results require it.

It is about 6 days since I added the fish.
If Stres Zyme doesn't work, is there anything I should add to the tank on a regular basis? (Other than the de-chlorinator of course!!)
