So I've just been watching Come Dine, and in the background was a Baby Biorb, with a CLOWN LOACH in it.

I do not understand how someone cant realise how this is wrong!
Fair enough with goldfish but clown loaches, especially this one, are pretty big. It took up half the floor space of the tank, and it wasn't even filled up to the top!

I'm sure I've seen something like this on here before, but does anyone else look at tanks on TV shows and think, what are you doing?

LOL, yeah seen a few fish tanks on TV shows... they kind of just stick out ever since i got into fish keeping!
There's some nice ones you see too, i seen a nice big discus tank on the TV once but i cant rem what i was watching lol.
but that's rare.. most are like you say are overcrowded ect!!

I was watching that 60minute makeover rubbish, well, I wasn't watching it but my girlfriend was. She noticed they had a decent 4ft tank on there, had 5 goldfish (over-stocked of course) they were different sizes, one was HUGE! Another two were a bit smaller but not much.

They have this "fish specialist" on the team who hoofed them into another tank. One of those tall tanks but not very long. I forget what they're called but have either white or black solid sides.

No cycle of any sort, all was brand new out of a box.

My girlfriend called me in when they "finished design" was being shown. It looked terrible, too cramped.

I think if they were doing my house like that I think I would be in the jail before the camera was off.

I remember DIY SOS once, and they put in a nice biOrb Life with about 8 endlers for a family. It was really nice, though I doubt they gave them any information on the tank or the fish. D:

I was watching don't tell the bride once and the bloke decided to get siamese fighters to place in a bowl for the centre piece of the table... They got claret and blue coloured ones as he was an aston villa supporter and he told the shop keeper what he wanted them for and he sold them to him...

i actually have a friend who bought feeder goldfish for her wedding tables... the poor things were not very happy, with several of them dying before the night was over. they all found homes with guests, so i hope they're in a better environment now! definitely a cause of strife between us though!

I know it's not a tv show, but recently I mum was telling me about a kids birthday party that her neighbors kid went too and all the guest kids got a siamese fighter in a little tank as a thankyou for coming gift. Shees what is the world coming too? I remenber when the fact you got invited to a party was the big deal rather than what pressies you were going to get from the hosts!.

Also I was watching How Clean is Your House the other night and was aghast at the state of the fish tank in the background on a bench in the filth filled kitchen. You could just make out some huge gold fish through the pea green soup of water that was only around 3/4 full. And the 2 "cleaners" didn't once mention the state of the tank or the fish (ok the house was diaboligical any way) and they (the cleaners) blissfully started spraying around all sorts of chemicals etc within the kitchen and house in general without any regard to what maybe toxic to the fish. I am always super careful with any chemicals as I have given my self chemical poisoning, as a kid using Malawash to clean my bird aviary to get rid of lice, and even now my nerves start goiing haywire when I am around certian nerve poisons which most insecticides are. I did notice however that when the cleaners went back to the house for a check up I think the fish tank was totally gone. So hopefully the fish didn't just die but went on to a better home. I am a bit surprised however about how blaise they were about the fish tank, when the same 2 ladies cleaned a disgusting house full of bird crap because the owner let them out all the time. In that instance they were mindful of how toxic the cleaning chemicals are for birds.

Ever since getting into fish keeping I notice any tank in the background on program. Some of them are ridiculous what they keep in them

I saw that don't tell the bride one aswell, poor things, although to be honest, some people keep them in those bowls forever

I thought maybe they'd been rented out, which is still bad, but at least they'd have gone back!

I always look out for them but my jaw just dropped when I saw this one and I had to rant to someone as my other half wouldn't have understood!
