Clay Jars leach iron into the tank?

Hi,

Clay naturally has a lot of iron (the reddish color), I was wondering if clay jars could leach iron in the tank. Am I on to something or I'm totally wrong?

The reason I asked this question is that one of my tanks which has a clay jar (pretty large one) has a lot of algae compared to my other tank which is overstocked, no algae eater and still very little algae.

Your thoughts, and experience?

Iron - Clay, Makes sense .

Overstocking is probably the main cause of your algea , do you feed the fish often ?

Do you have any live plants ? you don't say .
