Cichlid Prices?

I bought my Apisto's from an LFS in Cornwall, and with the courier fees paid
nearly £30 for the pair.

But it was a very good service - they arived safely and have since grown out
into a lovely pair of fish.

So, yes it was expensive, but they have a good stock on line with a proven record in
posting them on to the buyer - in the long run I think that it was well worth the money. :good:

Interesting thread...

My one inch Oscar was £4.99 recently in one LFS (the better one). There was a bigger one at 3" for £8.99 in Seapets. Poor thing.

My GT was about a fiver from the better LFS when she was under an inch big, though they missold her to me as a Blue Acara.

FM are around a fiver as well, in fact most cichlids around here are about a fiver, except for larger Angels and Discus.

My cheapest cichlid was my Keyhole, at 75p from Pets@Home

My L075 plec was the most expensive fish I've bought at £20/25 from Swallow Aquatics.

I buy my fish as babies if I can as I like to watch them grow up

Fish in my town esp cichlids and larger are sooooo costly, full grown pictus go for 30pounds each, oscars medium size go for 50pounds,a small 2inch arowana marked up at 99pounds and a 2.5foot redtailed catfish 190pounds

Thats mad

My LFS sells RTC and the TS hybrids for around £18 (under 1ft)

Oscars usually around £4 for Juvis, £8 for wild Juvis and £15 for any over 6" (or sometimes free)
