The fourth picture looks worryingly like a young peacock bass......
Nobody of the goat is pretty good with african fish from the amount of research they have done so far but, personally I really dont think they are blockheads. The mate even looks like a different fish again from the top one and looks more like some kind of dwarf acara.
However I am unsure of both so may be completely wrong...
Here's a little clip of my tank taken last night, when the star of the show was brave enough to go and say "hello" outside her bogwood cave mountain for the first time (knowingly)...
I shall carry on looking, but part of me wonders if these could be Tanganyikan shell dwellers? The top three of the yellow cichlid are a little overexposed, which does not help
The bottom pic, even though its not complete, looks familiar with that dark spot in the middle of the body, near the dorsal fin.
Thanks everyone, however it shall be going back tomorrow as I really did want a blockhead. I thought it doesn't look quite right but maybe its a juvie and will turn out ok! Then I remembered my good friends here with their bags of knowledge, and thought I'd test you! LOL.
Thanks again all.
good luck finding one too bad you don't live in nor cal I know someone that breeds them.
I don't know what it is the photos don't show it's true colors. The last photo the fish looks like it has a rounded head the other photos it looks like a more pointed head. I would bring it back too.
No idea on the first one really, although first thought was some sort of geophagus? with the long nose. The last one is definately not a baby blue acara as I have a tank full of those at the moment and the eye stripe is missing.
I do see where your going with jaguar cichlid, specially as the substrates so light it could well be, then again i could quite happily think earth eater from the 2nd picture
