Nitrates should be less than 20ppm. Above 20ppm RCS are susceptible to disease and infertility.

Where did you learn that from as always on the lookout for more reliable websites to glean good shrimp keeping information from.

Nitrate >20ppm
  • Nitrates should be less than 20ppm. It is not a requirement but it is highly encouraged to have nitrate levels of 0ppm. Adding plants to the aquarium and doing constant water changes are both excellent ways at reducing nitrate levels. Above 20ppm RCS are susceptible to disease and infertility.
