Can this dresser support this 55 gallon

I’d put blocks underneath the central vertical supports between floor and underside of unit. It’d be like adding extra legs, at the moment those vertical supports running through the unit are doing almost nothing.
Cut timber as close to the size required as you can and make up the difference with little plastic packers/shims available in construction/DIY/hardware stores. Very few floors are truly level and it’ll be a lot easier to slide blocks under then squeeze plastic packers in afterwards than cut timber to correct size. Packers come in various thicknesses 1mm 2 mm etc denoted by colour.

Ill be doing something similar to a 130yr old oak display cabinet soon that I’ll be using to store filter electrics etc for our new tank. Though it’ll be in a chimney breast to wall space shelved above the unit with the shelf supported on three sides by concealed legs and only by the unit along the front. There’ll be plenty of 4-5” blocks beneath the units two central supports and along the front believe me.

Pine. Just basis construction stuff. Theyd only need to be a little less than the front to back size of the unit.

2” X slightly less than unit front to back X slightly less than floor to underside of unit. Packed up with plastic packers.

There’s probably fresh timber of the sizes needed in neighbourhood skips or the local authority refuse/recycling centre. Timber yards will often have little offcuts ready to be thrown out. It’d probably cost less than most fish.
