I believe that this dresser can support a 55-gallon aquarium.

55 gallon tank full is about 460 pounds plus the weight of the tank itself and depends on what else you put in it.

I wouldn't risk it but I might be just fine.
With no supports in the middle anywhere you may wake up to a a fish tank in one of your drawers. And hopefully if you do find it in one in a drawer it isn't the one on the bottom.

Just my 2 cents though.

There are a few methods to strengthen the table though I can't guarantee 100%.
You may need to observe/monitor the table's condition especially the middle part from time to time.

1)Put a thick wood (I think plywood is ok) under the aquarium to spread out the weight and to prevent the middle part from sinking.
The thicker the wood the better it is. Even putting a few pieces of wood are ok.

Also, add a piece of styrofoam or rubber mat directly below the aquarium. You must ensure that the aquarium is sitting on an even surface to prevent stress on the aquarium glass.

Also, cover the table with a piece of plastic cover as wood may get warped when in contact with water.

2)You may need to reinforce the middle part by removing a few drawers and replace them with some woods.
Or if there is still space in the middle, you can squeeze in some woods next to the middle support to strengthen the middle part and prevent it from sinking/sagging.

3)Just double check the quality of the metal joints and overall structures.
Make sure they are strong and can withstand heavy duty. Big srews are usually strong.
Are they built for heavy weight or light weight storage?

Note: You might be able to find some woods from Ikea though they are mostly made of chipboards to cover the top of your table.
I think they are ok if they are thick enough or very thick.

I’d put blocks underneath the central vertical supports between floor and underside of unit. It’d be like adding extra legs, at the moment those vertical supports running through the unit are doing almost nothing.
Cut timber as close to the size required as you can and make up the difference with little plastic packers/shims available in construction/DIY/hardware stores. Very few floors are truly level and it’ll be a lot easier to slide blocks under then squeeze plastic packers in afterwards than cut timber to correct size. Packers come in various thicknesses 1mm 2 mm etc denoted by colour.

Im a Carpenter/Joiner with 43 years of sawdust behind me by the way.

Ill be doing something similar to a 130yr old oak display cabinet soon that I’ll be using to store filter electrics etc for our new tank. Though it’ll be in a chimney breast to wall space shelved above the unit with the shelf supported on three sides by concealed legs and only by the unit along the front. There’ll be plenty of 4-5” blocks beneath the units two central supports and along the front believe me.
