Sorry if i've come across as an idiot, i'm just ignorant. I've never kept fish unless you count a goldfish i had at aged 11 or my dads marine tank he had when i was a baby !

No one comes across as an idiot. We all had to start somewhere, none of us knew it all and I don't believe anyone does know it all now. A lot of people, including myself have learnt from their mistakes and from others who've got more experience. Even those fish keeping 40+ years are still learning.

I've been keeping fish for 40+ years. I will be the first one to admit... I am NO expert! Most of what I've learned is from watching others and talking to others. When I started, there was no internet and no forums to consult. Information is so much easier to come by now.
