Hello people...I have decided to buy fiddler crabs. I have read they need brackish water (semi fresh and salt) but the question was, How do you make brackish water? I'm gonna put them in a 10 gallon tank.

Get a large plastic container and fill it with fresh water and dechlorinator and aerate it. Get some Marine Salt from a pet shop and use it at half strength. Add the salt to the container of fresh water. Aerate the mixture for 24 hours and then use that for water changes.

If you haven't bought the crabs yet, make sure you cycle the aquarium filters first. Brackish water normally has a pH above 7.0 and any ammonia produced in this water will poison or kill the crabs. Cycling the filter before adding the crabs will significantly reduce the chance of the crabs dying from ammonia poisoning.
