Indian almond leaves question

I wanted to add some for my future shrimps but I wanted to know first how long do the dried ones last out the water in a dry place.
I plan on buying 10 leaves but for my 105L it may last a looooong time and I don't want them to spoil

If they don't get wet, I would expect them to take a couple of years to start to crumble. I had some for 2 years, at least, and had no problem. I used them up, so I don't know how much longer they'd stay usable for without getting too brittle.

And, I know is good for shrimp and I've seen for bettas too, but for boraras merah would you recommend it? I have some coral to buffer a bit the ph/kh (I have 7.2 ph rn but lowers sometimes)

B. merah originate from tannin-stained waters high in organic content and a ph as low as 4. So your almond leaves--and a lower ph--would be welcomed.

There's a bit of a myth (at times) that pH has to be above 7. Mine starts at 6.8, and the rainforest fish I keep do far better than they did in harder, seriously well buffered pH 7.4 tap. It sounds like you may have excellent water for those fish.

First question, I won a pack of 500 leaves about 5 years ago, looking at about 1/2 gone but they are still good. I put mine in a ziptop bag for freshness.

Second, I put them in tanks where fish like leaf litter and tannins (i.e. boraras, pangio, cory) or in tanks where fish need them for any issues like fighting, missing scales. I believe in it's medicinal benefits for fish.
