So i bought a female guppy one day ago and i was just watching my fish when a fry popped out. Unfortunately one of my neon got to it, however i don't have a hatchery and i cant sit and watch all the fish get eaten. Any help would be appreciated on how to make a make shift hatchery until tomorrow where i'm going to have to find a pet shop open on Easter Sunday. ( Also if anyone knows pets at home opening times on easter sunday that would be great!)

The guppy may be giving birth prematurely because she is stressed from the recent move.  I wouldn't want to stress her out any further by putting her into a breeding box.  You could buy some plants (moss or weeds like egeria) to help the fry hide in.

Yes, livebearers often give birth (for me at least) right after I get them.  It must be the stress or temp change or something.

What other fish do you have in the tank? Can you post a picture of the whole tank.

Float some plants at the top of the tank for the fry to hide in.
Also plentys of plants, and hiding spaces for fry.
Becareful when doing a gravel vac as sometimes fry will bury themselves in the substrate.
