Block Paving Sand?

ive got a bag of this at work and filled a clear container with water and added the sand and it cleared almost instantly would this be ok to use in my tank its really really fine i would even class it as play sand

im not going to risk it unless im sure but it does look pretty good tbh
 
most sand can be used as long as it is clean and free of chemicals. However, many sands compact quite tightly and prevent or limit plant growth.
 
Make sure it has no added chemicals to stop plant growth..
 
by block paving sand i take it you mean the jointing sand? if so it kiln dried which should be enough heat to kill any germs etc but if in any doubt for the sake of £2.89 a bag argos play sand is proven safe .
