I'm currently thinking of gutting the filtration in my Baby BiOrb and replacing with sand and a small internal filter. However, with the curved shape of the tank, how would I actually attatch a filter? I was thinking of something like this: http

Also, would I be alright to have the sand up to two inches deep in the middle? I wanted to cover up as much of the UGF as possible, and the ring which holds the 'bubble tube' is not detachable, so I'd need to cover it, though it would of course be considerably shallower elsewhere with the curved sides.
Thanks
