I just got a small batch of baby guppies born, only about 10 maybe 8,  most of them though look like they were born too soon, really big egg sacks still on them, with a pulsing vein in them. Even one just egg on the bottom of the breeder.  What are their chances of survival? Should I wait a couple days and see who looks decent before deciding to weed out?  Some are swimming fine but some are resting on the bottom or on snail shells.

Leave them in situ, the strongest will survive.

they seem to be doing better now, but some are swimming upside down, not dead just...backwards

Good news! i agree with pete though, its better you let nature sort this out.

everyone seems fine now, I've just never seen them born that early, if I can get them to grow up *crosses fingers* I hope they will be a little more long lived than any store bought ones I've had.  I'm assuming being born in my well water will give them a bit more tolerance to it.

That's great, good luck with 'em and keep us posted.

I can't stop saying 'Gupsters' now !!!

My babies are growing up! they don't look quite so much like tadpoles and more like tiny fish! I think I only lost 1 or 2, so I'm happy!  Mommy was all yellow and at least three of the babies are looking to be black.  Never know what you're gonna get.
