I know that nerite larvae need saltwater to develop but what is the chance of that happening in freshwater ?
I've been keeping some nerite snails in my nano planted tanks for few years now
Even tho there were many times they laid eggs as usual no baby snails
I also have some tanks/containers outside that I just use to plant/keep extra plants to use for future projects
Tdy while I was checking on one of them I saw this

This guy is about 5mm I'm absolutely sure that he did not hitch a ride on a plant cuz I haven't bought any plants for a long time now
And also I don't even know how he got into that from my tank because I haven't even touched that container for months
The most probable thing to have happened is few months ago I moved a piece of moss attached coconut shell from my tank and put it in there and an egg or 2 got a ride on that
That's not the main issue here how did he survive in freshwater??????

maybe that little guy is not a nerite ;)

If the snail in in an outdoor container, could a bird or some other animal have dropped it in there?

It sure looks like one
Right??
Which snail are you referring to - the big brown one or the small clear one ? The small clear one does not look like a baby nerite shell is wrong.
