7.8 ph should be fine for livebearers.

Is the api 0.5 reading the first reading on the card. no 3rd

Ok.

Steralise the tube in boiling water and retest. Leave it 30 minutes for reading.
Try and take the sample of water near the gravel or sand.

ok will do that now. as for what looks like the pregnant molly i have put her in a breading net. my local fish store dont seem to want to help.

can you give some advise on this please

have read this and still none the wiser to be honest. can you help me with the post of some pictures the files are to large to post how do i get them on here

Don't put her in a breeding net it can stress her and cause death or even abort the fry.
Best to leave her be. If there plenty of hiding spaces most of the fry will survive.
Float a plant at the top of the tank for the fry.

Post in the livebearer section of the forum, you will receive alot more help over there.

Have you got the results for the retest.

back to 0ppm, can you also have a look at this please

thanks wilder

She looks quite big so not long to go.
Signs that she about to give birth are.
She will be moody and chase other fish away from her.
She will hide alot.
Also males might start chasing her round more.

If no other fish are bothering her I would leave her be.

Don't know if you seen this thread, so here a link to when livebearers are ready to give birth.
