Advice, Tank Is Here But..

Got my new 354 litre 5ft tank today. The cabinet was brought up fine and to be honest didnt matter if it had a batter or two. The tank however is sitting in the garage as between them they didnt think they could manage as the staircase was fairly steep and only one man upfront and behind. They have kindly said that they are going to look into some heavy lifting men for me but it may take fair amount of time and have temporary measures for my fish and plants. Does anyone have any suggestions for companies, help? I know no one that can help personally. I dont mind paying for the service to get the tank up in one piece, but if there are companies or organisations would be really grateful!

Hey hon, I have PMd him to see if he knows of any companies locally, I would feel far too guilty to ask him to do it! I do hope he may know of some services locally though. Just worried as the LFS are pretty laid back and so want to work it my way if it comes to it!

What about removal firms,they're use to humping furniture,might be worth giving them a ring?

Better still go down a local gym,pick 4 strong lads and a bit of sweet talk of its better to lift tanks than weights...

But seriously glad you managed,i did some tanking moving today, from one sisters to anothers after all my waterchanges and running around, sisters boyfriends kid fractured his skull aswell which was why i got drafted in to do it, he will be ok, boys will be boys

You better duck Nelly! Aw that was so sweet of you, I had 3 men (including my partner) and that was a struggle as only two could fit around the tank at one time Oh no! Hope the kid is ok, kids will be kids, he will bounce back! What a way to get out of chores though

You know their is Bovington a small hop away (army base) so should have gone looking

Some long pieces of cedar shims or strips of wood might be helpful for leveling the tank. Have found that tanks that set level empty,can sometimes become a bit out of plum once the substrate and or water reaches one quarter to half full. But you probably know this already!
Am quite envious of the large tank and look forward to pics when it's all set up .

Here is an update pic just taken of my "beast" of a tank, the sand has just had status updated to dispatch so pretty much should be running by the weekend, plan to put mature filter into the mature taken from internals and hope to clone like this (any other suggestions please do!)
