Mine have bred in a tank with angels and alsorts in, however the only aggression was shown between them not to others in the tank. My male EBJD is the most placid fish i've ever owned. He's 8" and wouldnt even touch japonica shrimp, its only my smaller 6" female regular Jack who is boistrous and devours any shrimp i put in the tank. Mine have bred 5 times in the last 14 months, with the fry lasting 5 days maximum so far. Post on here if they do breed. You'll know when your female is primed for breeding as she'll get a dark black/brown banding almost like a convict cichlid across her body, her blue will weaken over this time. The regular cichlid cleaning of a spawning site usually follows
