Yeah exactly. I would love it, geaorge farmer style, but would always be scared of finding fish on the floor in the morning.

I wouldn't find them. They'd get snaffled by the cats. No in-between in our house - tank, or death by cat. I could get a condensation tray and cut it around the plants, so it was just covering the open water...

Anyway, this is beside the point. I think the barbs get too big for a 2 footer. At the end of the day though if it's for the kids then it's their choice, so I guess I give them a choice of things that would work (is betta colours and shoalers) and then go with what they want.
