What's new

148.6L (39.2 gallon) aquarium journal

Update: The new tank might have a small scratch on the right side. That might be a big problem. Does it hold water perfectly anymore or will the tank leak?

Hard to tell from the pic if its a scratch or a crack.
If its a scratch its fine, if its a crack it should be fixed.

I can feel the scratch on one side (the back of the glass, not the front part).
Probably done from an algae scraper, my tanks are full of scratches like that.

Or sand or gravel caught in a sponge.
You may be able to polish it out, or at least improve it, using toothpaste.

Front area (where the Aqua One logo is displayed) on the right side, and I can feel the scratch on one side of the glass with my fingernails.
That should be fine if it's the line that runs from the bottom up to a couple of inches above the water level.

Removed some excess snails from the tank today. They were breeding quickly, so I took some action on dealing with the snail problem. I just picked up the snails with my fingers (I washed them with running water before putting my hands in the tank) and disposed of them. But I might use a snail trap next time however.

Meanwhile, the female tetra's wound is a bit paler now. I will continue to monitor her in the next few days.

As long as she is eating well she should recover.

Don't waste your money on a snail trap. Just use a net and scoop the snails out when you see them.
