    Brown algae everywhere!

Help! Brown ‘algae’ everywhere I went away for a few weeks, with my tank in good condition, and since I’ve been back (2 weeks), I have not been able to get this sudden “algae” problem under control (idk if it’s algae or not). I have done 3 50% water changes since I’ve been back, trying to suck...

    Brown algae in gravel

I have brown algae in the gravel only at the front of my tank. I own a bristlenose pleco which seems to help but not entirely remove it, any advice on this? Thanks

    Algae control for 10 gallon

I have a 10gal betta tank with 3 amano shrimp and 1 nerite snail. I'm getting a lot of brown algae on the glass that's clouding my view, and my algae eaters aren't dealing with it. Anything I could add to help out? Also, should I add any bottom feeders? I noticed some teeny tiny detritus worms.

    Brown Algae

Just today I noticed some brown algae in the fish tank I have been cycling for a couple of weeks. The water has been tested regularly and at this point, the tank seems to have finished cycling. I plan on doing a large water change later this week and getting a couple fish this weekend. The tank...

BETTA FIN ROT? WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

Hey everyone, I have had my beta Neptune for about 6 months now. He is in a 2.5 gallon tank with a small filter, water heater, and a couple sprouted pothos cuttings. The temp is consistently around 80 degrees. I change the water 50% twice a week and clean the tank every 2-3 weeks. I test the...

I cannot shake this algae and it’s starting to starve my plants

I just tested my parameters about 10 minutes ago so I know they’re pretty accurate. pH: 8.4 (tap is nearly 9.0) Ammonia: 0ppm Nitrite: 0ppm Nitrate: 5ppm It is a 20 gallon high with 6 corys, 2 adult Gardneri killifish, and a couple Gardneri fry. Relatively under stocked I think, but fully...

    Brown algae?!

Hi - I’m having trouble with brown algae! I upgraded my tank about 3 weeks ago, keeping old filter media and a little gravel from my previously cycled tank. I’ve been testing my water regularly and it’s perfect. We keep the light on for about 12 hours a day. I have shrimp, Corys and Rasboras...

    Will live plants help?

Hello all! I have a 20 gallon tank with a few Cory Catfish. I've had the tank for some time, but I struggle to keep algae levels in check. Brown algae seems to love multiplying in the tank, and I have to do heavy cleaning quite frequently. Will getting live plants help this situation? I have...

    Brown Algae (Diatoms) Infestation

I am having a major issue with brown algae, which the LFS has identified as diatoms. I noticed it originally on my ornamental Buddha that was in the tank so I immediately pulled the ornament and scrubbed it in extremely hot water before returning it to the tank. Almost over night the algae...

What Is This White Film On The Glass And Tubes When Cycling Is Complet

So I was at my friends today and he feels his tank is nearly done cycling. He was going to do a water test later to be sure (wife was picking up kit on her way home). We were both wondering what the white, milky film was all over his glass and air hoses. He has also started to get some brown...
