You Know You're A Fish Keeper When...

You know you are a fish keeper when you talk to your fish and expect them to hear and respond to you, if not actully understand you.

I get to bug you guys with another one

When you put your iPod earphones onto the glass of the tank to see what the fish do when they hear your music (maybe this is just a " you know you're an idiot when.....")

I thought of a few more!
-When you haul 20 gallons of water (15 of which are in 5 gallon jugs) to work twice a week to do water changes on the tanks there, because your tap-water is better than your work's well-water.

-When you spend hours on liveaquaria.com researching fish for tanks you're not going to be able to set up for at least 5-10 years from now.

-When you spend a good day griping that you can't buy less than thirty bucks of fish from the above website, because none of your local lf's have the fish you want. That fish costing less than $3.00. :X

-When your coworker decides you need the nickname AG (aquarium girl) because of all the time you spend maintaining the tanks at work.

-When you have a real phobia of dead fish (as in they make you want to run away), but you keep fish anyway.

All of the above are quite true for me, though the last one is much better now than when I was little.

You know you're a fishkeeper when:

You think about how to arrange your live rock during a meeting or event.

You get your best friend interested in aquatics.

You read to your fish.

Your late to work because you were stairing at your tank.

You have a fish tank in every room of your house.

When you shop for houses, you immediately start visualizing the best place to put your tank.

You can't resist the ... "one more... just one... more..."

That's all for now.

SB

When everyone around you knows, whether they wanted to or not, that there is actually "good" bacteria, and what an important role it plays in the nitrogen cycle, which is something else they now know about.

you know you are a fish keeper when its easy to think of more "you know you are a fish keeper when...." reasons despite there being 6 pages of em already.

-When you have a real phobia of dead fish (as in they make you want to run away), but you keep fish anyway. .

Heck, I'm afraid of the live ones, too! :X

But I love my (scary) fishes...

You know you are a fish keeper when you can tell all five of your zebra danios apart.

You know you are a fishkeeper when you remember the names of fish you had five years ago.

When you thank your wife for letting you put a tank in the living room; only because it gives you something to watch during her extraordinarily boring "chick flicks."

(true as of tonight)
