dunno:
I own a small hexagonal tank - you know the one made by clearseal and it stands approx. 15 inches high.
I have 2 goldfish one of which is now 11yrs old.
The problem is the state of the tank.
I have undergravel filtration powered by air.
The gravel though always has a pile of C**P at the bottom of it and I am always forever syphoning it off.
Is there an alternative form of filtration that would make the tank look a bit cleaner without my constant intervention?

A tank needs regular maintence to keep it healthy, part water changes, gravel cleaning, a strong filter etc, there is no such thing as maintence free fish keeping  also goldfish need at least 8 uk 10 us gallons per fish for growth or they will be stunted and it will be very hard to keep the tank water parimetors correct.
