Over the last week i have been deciding on a stocking for my 20 gallon. i have a few ideas for the shoaling fish. But i cant decide so i thought i would asked you guys via a poll.

I'm probably biased as these Threadfins are what I keep in my main tank. Great active wee fish, loads of character.

I am just worried as i read that they can be very delicate fish and some times i dont have time to do a water change every week and i am worried that this may kill them

You'll need to do a water change every week anyway no matter what species of fish you do get.

Threadfins are not THAT delicate, just need steady water parameters and a suitable habitat and they'll be happy enough.

And water changes will definitely not kill them.

I guess i will wait for a few more reply's , however the threadfins rainbows are looking as my favourites

Major understocking in my somewhat-planted 30g only generates about 10ppm of NO3 every two weeks (tap is 0ppm), but the fish are still releasing growth hormone in the water all the time. It's just a good thing to get into the habit of.

I guess as a precaution i will understock. If , only if i cant do a water change or i  do a water change later than usual it will not have large consequences on the fish

I had rummynose but i wanted something different so i found the fish above and so far i am fixed on the threadfin rainbowfish until someone can change my mind

Checker barbs :good: - no experience of them mind, but they do look lovely :)

I dont know which fish i should choose i am torn between checker barb and threadfin rainbow fish. i cant find a favourite, i would buy both but i dont want to risk it as the checker barbs could nip the male rainbows fins.

Very Biased but I would go the threadfin rainbows too, they are a stunning fish, if all but impossible to take a good photo of. I just did a major water change on my threadfin rainbow tank and now the males are all displaying and showing off.
Some suitable co-inhabitants with the threadfins would be delicate blue eyes, or spotted blue eyes which are also small and pretty.
Khuli loaches would also work well with these guys (although mine live with a pack of  corydoras) and shrimp would also stand a chance of surviving with the threadfins.

Yeah, i guess the rainbows would be better as i am planing on keeping shrimp with them
Also i am. Thinking of having a shoal of ember tetra
