Why Wont My Filter Prime

Ok I have been having the hardest time priming my rena xp3 since I moved it to my 90g.

I used to just push down the lever, let it fill up with water, plug it in and away it went.

Now it's a constant battle.

Here's a picture, scary I know. The tube on the right goes straight up to the intake. The tube on the left goes to the left side of the tank for output.

Is it not priming because of the droop in the output tube?

Possibly. TBH I've never ever primed my rena in the 4 years I've had it. I always just fill it up with water before putting it back under the tank.

I got a brand new one (mail order) that would not prime...... I notified the sender who refunded me (without requesting the item back) and only several months later, I decided to try it again..... I found a small crack in the lid seal which I fixed with silicon sealer and it worked perfectly...... I notified the seller and re-paid the full amount.

I think I need to cut the hosing for the output to diminish droop.

Try to prime it again, only this time physically reach back their and raise the drip loop so its no longer a drip loop. If it primes then the drip loop was your problem.
