I went there for the first time today and WOW! Absolutely loved it, could have spent all day in the place! Was only in for about half an hour because i was with a friend who isn't so into fish keeping, but i was so impressed.

I usually go to the Aquatic Design Centre on Great Portland St but Wholesales is on another level! It looks so small from the outside too, you just don't expect it to go all that way back! The variety of fish they have is astounding.

(Loads of cardinals there too, i've noticed a few posts lately about the lack of them in the UK at the moment).

Just felt the need to share, loved it!

Me too, some people say its rubbish, some have said its a great day out?!

Well the Aquatic Design Centre is a must, and really not far from euston.
King's Aquatics in Camden are just up and running again, i pop in nearly every day now since i virually live opposite and pop in on my way home from uni. They really haven't got much in at the moment, but the lad running the aquatics section won't sell you a fish if it's not in a fit state, which is encouraging.

If you can get out to Bethnal Green, you've gotta visit the Wholesale Tropicals.

Cool. The Number 8 bus goes past it, get off at "Barnet Grove" stop, it's literally outside the store. Or you can walk it from Liverpool St Station, it's only 5-10min or so.

In Euston you're dead close to Grt Portland St, thats not a problem.

 you say, iam awful with directions, and asking a londoner to spare two seconds jesh  like getting blood from a stone :fun:

but i shall have fun, what types of fish we talking? any biggies and oddballs?

they do have oddballs.. i seen rays and fire eels.

they also have good selection of angels.

Wholesale is my local LFS and I love it. Terry Snr and Terry Jnr are great and can get you just about anything you want. I always leave there laughing my head off and with bags full of goodies.

I sometimes pop in to ADC as well but their London prices put me off at times. Mind you they do have a hairy puffer in there that is a bargain at the moment. I seriously wanted it but my baby Congo puffer was more tempting.

Been there a couple of times and really liked it. The shop front is very deceptive  Also, beware that they close Sunday afternoons.

@nelly
If you have a few hours or an afternoon to spare, it's worth taking a 30 minute train journey to the famous Wildwoods for your oddballs ;) (provided the trains are running normally  ) There are at least 5 fish shops (not all nice of course) and a number of reptiles shops and pet shop, garden centres, etc in the area.

Crew's Hill is definitely worth an afternoon's browsing - you sometimes get some real finds in those shops!
That's our local - need to pop up there tomorrow actually.

Am planning to go to this place on Sunday - what time is it open until?
