White stuff on plastic plant

Can anybody tell me what the white stuff is on this plant? It's in a 15 gallon column aquarium. There are no fish yet. I've been adding Stability since Monday.

It just looks like sand to me. Maybe when you were cleaning some got swished up in the plant? Nothing to worry about IMO.

I think sand too. The filter moves the water which lifts a bit of sand. I use a long handled paintbrush (new) to get it off.

Definitely sand. FWIW your fish will be happier (and healthier) with real plants.

Yes. Get some easy to grow live plants. If you would like a list, I will provide one.
