I went to a few lf stores and the prices on that mirical mud is pretty outrageous. One place had about 1lb for $54.00. That would cost a fortune for me. I allready ordered a new sump that has a built in refugium. So i am trying to get everything togeather right now that i need. If my refugium/sump is 30x24x30in how much mud do i really need to do this right?

As i do no tlive in the states i cannot help you with suggestions on where to get the miracle mud. However, Miracle mud IS very expensive and personally i would not pay for it when there are other eco mud products on the market for far cheaper.
I use Mineral Mud which is roughly half theprice over here in the UK. Kent make a product which is a mud bases system as well but i cant rememver the name. This is even cheaper than the Mineral mud that i use. All of them give excellant results and i have not yet seen any benefits from using the more expensive variety.

Sounds about right to me. I believe my LFS quoted me £35 a bucket for Miracle Mud, and I needed 3 buckets. Ouch.
