Whats Your Longest Acclimatization?

Just curious as to the longest you guys have taken to ever acclimatised a fish? Also whats your average time?

Two hours with Discus moved from R/O tapwater mix to straight tapwater.Drip acclimation.

Wow I ususally do it over about 45 mins adding water every 5 mins or so (after the first 15). I thought I was cheating a bit to be honest!

I don't understand the whole drip method thing.

I do the drip as it slowly introduces the fish to your own water, chances are that the LFS's stats are going to be different to yours, I just use a small tubins so that it slowly runs into the bag.

Longest for me would be a 3 hour drip for fish imported from South America. I've done this with fish I've gotten shipped in as well, not knowing what sort of water they were kept in. Double the water volume every hour, after 3 hours the fish are in 87.5% tank water.

How do you get the fish into the tank without releasing the water in aswell? Or do you have to use a net? Plus can you acclimatise soft water fish to hard water using this drip method? (Just curious)

You put them in a bucket or something like that below the tank and use a airline tub with a clamp or one of them adjustable valves (dont know what there called) and you just syphon it down to the bucket but just have it set to a drip so it will slowly acclimatize them.

3 hours drop method for my denisonii, both into the QT tank and the same for the transfer to the Rio. Both times they kept a decent amount of their "redline."

However, when I moved them to the 5x2x2 the other day, I reduced this to 1 hour drop method... And still two days on, their redline is almost non-existant!

Just over an hour,using drip method,when i acquired my 6 gold cories & 6 black cories has i collected them from 80 miles away.
