hmmm im a bit worried now though i bought him from a tank labelled assorted rams - they were really colourless at the time so i though he was a bolivian  - but hes got more and more colourful since hes been in the tank so i started to wonder
 
 
however my ph is only at 6.8 so i dont know if hell be ok

He should be fine, Seriously fish says up to 7.0 is okay

German blues usually have a longer body this could be a hybrid version I have one and the LFS sold it to me as a bubble ram

This isn't a hybrid its a morph called a balloon ram. Technically a deformed fish but some people find them cute

Yes, they are. As with most "balloon" morphs of species, just watch out for any potential issues with swim bladder and other internal organs. These guys are also pretty sensitive, so be prepared for that. I love GBRs though. They have a lot of character.
