I have a 5 gallon just sat there, what should I have in it?!

Too boring! Had that before I was thinking just a Betta, but I'm open to lots of ideas?!

turn it into a micro habitat, most fish places sell very small breeds of fish such a corys, minnows or rosboras. lot of plants

Some dechlorinated water, perhaps a heater and a mature filter... Maybe some plants too

In all seriousness, not many repsonsible options for a ~24l, but they include...

A Betta
or
A small (<5) colony of Clown Killifish if you have suitable water
or
A trio/quartet hareem of a "pygmy"-esque livebearer

That sounds alright, how would I get started on that micro habitat?! Just cycle my tank then add plants and all that jazz?

I've started my 5 Gallon, I took some media from my other tank, so everything is gravy! Got sand and a bridge and a fake plant from my old old tank:') Waiting for a few days, testing my water and doing 'add and wait method' Then mooching about for plants.
I am going to have a betta and a few shrimp!
