I've had a pleco since August and I have no idea what type he is. I got him from PetSmart but there was no species listed, all it says is Pleco (Large). It said his minimum tank size is 20 gallons but a lot of the PetSmart listings seem to be incorrect. I need to know because I'm not sure if he'll get too big for my smaller tank, 29 gallon. I can move him to my larger tank, 45 gallon. I took a few pictures but they're kinda crap because he won't leave his structure so I had to pick it up, which stirred up some debris. I've tried to get better pictures but I can't lol.

His name is Greg cus that's a fat dude name.
Don't worry about the debris, cleaning day is Friday!

That's my current belief. He is a very nice grey/steel blue color when he's actually out in the light. He looks almost white/grey in the dark tho. Would he grow too big for the 29 gallon I have? It is 30 L x 12 W x 18 H
the 45 gallon I have is 36 L x 12 W x 24 H

Yeah, he looks a lot like that grey one. The only threat might be my Colombian Spotted Pleco but he's probably getting rehomed. If I do rehome that one, I'll move the Rubber Lip over to the 45.

plecos are quite territorial as some people say

It is a rubberlip pleco, which does better in HARD water, over 145ppm GH. And cooler temps below 75F and needs lots of flow. Theyre not one to thrive well if these needs are not met.
