To answer one of your questions sykogngsta, cichlids become very territorial when they start to breed. Cories are not capable of learning about territory so they will constantly intrude and be hurt by the cichlids. Although they would do the cichlids no harm, they will not be tolerated. If you keep cichlids that are meant to breed, do not keep cories. I love my cories but would not keep them with my cichlids that are trying to breed. Its just not fair to them.
