What Fish Can You Have With A Betta?

I am thinking of getting a betta in my next tank, but I don't know what community fish I could have with it. Thanks

My Betta and rasbora lived quite happily together for a while. Now i have some tetra's and an agro cherry barb aswell and i think the barb is shredding my Betta's tail He lives with some shrimp too. My Betta doesn't bother the other fish, but obviously one is bothering him. always depends on the Betta

I was told that small tetras would be fine but I don't know that for certain. I have White Cloud Mtn Minnows with my Betta.

anything that wont take a bite out of their fins. Neons etc prob a good bet. Alot of people say shrimps but can see a shrimp easily shredding a sleeping bettas tail. Too paranoid about anything ruining my bettas fins so i wont add anything to the tank with him maybe a snail though, like a big one.

I had 8 pigmy cory which were fine. He used to chase them around a bit when the mood took him but nothing serious. They never bothered him at all.

Most corys should be fine. Most smaller tetra and rasbora should work. BN or clown plecs.
I would go for something like
1 betta
15 galaxy rasbora or ember tetra
15 pygmy or panda corys
Pair 1M 1F or trio 1M 2F or bristlnoses.

It depends on your betta's personality. My girls killed 2 corys and ate all my cherry shrimp.

But they are fine with Khuli loaches.

I would get your betta, male or sorority of females,single female and then see what they are like, then stock on that decision x

I have a small female betta with lots of mollies, swordtails, some corys and they are fine together. However, she does sneak up behind my older molly fry when they are sleeping at night, but as far as I know she hasn't eaten any. I did have a few really tiny fry that she would chase, but the rest of the fish in the tank would too. I think "someone" might have eaten them since I haven't seen them in a few days. But yeah, If my betta died for some reason, I'd definitely get another. She's so cool to watch! She has so much personality. I've always seen bettas in a small bowl just floating there and have never seen a betta in a 30 gallon tank so I was pretty curious how she'd act when I put her in. She's very active and curious. She's definitely one of my favorites.

Im currently considering buying a small tank to house a Betta as i've never had the privelege of owning one.
Because im keeping one in a small tank (around 20-30 litres) it will restrict me to keep a lot of fish with it, so I was considering shrimp or snails just to keep the bottom of the tank in shape.

As for you I know you could keep them with Neon's & such, but steer away from Serpea Tetras and the like.

I was wondering wether African Dwarf Frogs are suitable to go with a Betta in that size of tank? If anyone could confirm this would be okay that would be great

I think dwarf frogs would be fine as long as they can access the surface (<12"). I have them in a very small tank but can't put them in my community tank cause it's 14" tall. Plus they'd starve cause the mollies would eat all the food first.
