What Fish Are This?

i've get this fish since they were flies, i did heaps of searching bit can't seem to find out what kind of fish this is? im pretty sure they are live breeders.

Probably geophagus of some sort, not a livebearer.

Possibly a geophagus but not 100% on that do you have any closeups of them? Not a live bearer though, they are definitely a cichlid of some kind

no there mouth brooders they still lay eggs but keep them in there mouths untill there free swimming as far as im aware there are no live bearing cichlids as yet

They look like Cupid Cichlids / Greenstreaked Eartheaters to me: http/www.aquatic-e...oma_cupido.html - I think there are 3 distinct varieties of them though...

Or could be the other species mentioned...

Nah not cupids or relatives, Im still kind of thinking G.Brasil as well but Im thinking it might be somekind of central american cichlid but need a close up

Yup they are a kind of Geophagus brasiliensis for sure. Why did you think it was a livebearer? These guys get big 9-12" they get aggressive to eachother with age.

Brasiliensis or Iporangensis, but as Wills says, a close up clearer pic would be useful

they are deffo an earth eater cichlid because i see the all the time in my lfs, they are a mouth brooding species
