What are you doing today?

watching the clock...9 minutes till I am free. Not sure what I'm doing when I get home-oh yeah feeding the fish, turtle and finally the cats. Not sue what to feed myself, but I'll figure it out, so long as everything else is fed-that's the most important, right?

Just been watching two of my favourite singer/actors, Kris Kristofferson and Barbara Streisand in A Star is Born - A real blast from the past.
Speaking of a "Blast From the Past" the movie by that name was also quite good with Brendan Fraser,Alicia Silverstone and Sissy Spacek

Today, I found out that somehow there was a stain from the painter's paint on my lovely Tetra® Whisper The Shape of Silence™ (10-30 gallons). A few days ago, a painter came here and it was said that it would be not necessary to cover my tank and something else. How this happened? I do not know. It is possible to remove this paint stain, after all?

Riding the bikes , feeding the fish , mowing the lawn and devouring my supper . Nothing out of the ordinary . The Blue Angels are giving a show this next weekend and they’re already in town practicing . I could do without the war machine noise .

Good advice and I do . You could park a Volkswagen on things I build .
As per things you build, how's the build coming on that awesome detailed model ship that you started building about 3 years ago.

I think you know or you wouldn’t have asked but I have been giving it more than the usual amount of thought lately . This was a very expensive kit and was a gift from my late wife and I feel compelled to finish it as a tribute to her .

One thing I would really like to find is some small wood rasps , hobby size , to do the fairing on the ribs . I goofed one with a Dremel and fortunately DeAgostini replaced it for me for a small fee but I’m scared of power tools and hand sanding takes forever . There are 25 ribs to do on the hull side and also inside for the interior planking . Once I have that arduous step done then the project should be fairly straightforward , still difficult and tedious but just normal difficult .

Noah built his Ark faster than you are building that ship. You should post updates in the thread you started in the hobby area of the forums.
PS: I asked Alexa how many years it took for Noah to build the Ark and she said it took 120 years.

I think that model ship will teach you how the actual architecture of ships works. All I ever built was plastic ones to see what they looked like. But I've put 22 hours in on redoing my fishroom over the past 3 days, with about 10 hours solid still to go. When it's done, it won't hold a pair of each of the 33,000 plus known fish species on the planet, but we could work on an ark. I don't know how we'd divide the flood into hard and soft water, salt and fresh, etc, but I'll leave the taps on for the refill hose and we'll see what happens.

Moving these tanks on my own has been hard work. I'm sore. Today, I move 2 more 40s and 2 30s. Catch the remove, remove the rocks, move them, redecorate , refill and restock. I won't be able to do this alone again, I reckon, but for now, so far so good. I'll have a big cleanup, then I'll take photos and make a new fishroom thread here.

I'm off to get my eyes tested for new glasses. Sometimes when I work away at projects like this I think I should get my head tested, but I know what the results would be.

Having been looking at so many threads with the intention of learning more about the hobby nowadays, I have seen shrimp so often in photographs that I had begun to consider getting a couple if my water parameters allow.

Following collecting my car from the garage where I had the MOT done (annual check to ensure it is safe to stay on road), I decided to go to Pets @ Home (British version of Petsmart at a guess).

As an upshot, I bought a 24 litre acrylic aquarium with filter and plastic lid. I also bought a second filter in case I need to adapt the one that is in there to make it shrimp safe. Will need to get very small straining medium, but have seen some that someone uses on a site in UK to adapt the filters people send in to him to make them over for him. His channel is on youtube called pimpmyfilter or similar. May even have got the link from on here... my half a brain cell is now turning to mush!!

Also got an air pump and long stone, as I am sure I remember something about shrimp needing good air flow?? I also still have a heater in my exo-terra 60x45x45 that I used to keep frogs and also fire bellied toads at one point in.

All above shop bought stuff for under £80. Now I think that's a good deal. Just don't tell me now that I cannot keep shrimps in an acrylic aquarium, or I'll cry!

Off now to bother the shrimp forum for research and annoying questions relating to their posts..... 😜

Got a new (refurbished Samsung S24 ultra) yesterday and ran out of steam when I finally got home from work near 7. Should be getting home earlier today so after I recharge my phone I will hopefully get everything switched over; though I heard it can take a couple hours from my manufacture to Samsung.
