Water Test Kits?

I bought my API master freshwater test kit on line in the US for about $20 US plus about $5 for shipping. £1.00 is worth about $1.50 US so it converts to less than £20 total including shipping. More than double that amount strikes me as either highway robbery or high import taxes into SA.

Do these test kits have a "use by" expiry date... in the event that I want to "import" a number of kits to last me a long time?

Test kits make me mad soo inaccurate its unbeliveable,

If then they are indeed so inaccurate, why do we place so much emphasis on water quality?...

Yes, they do have an expiration date. As far as being inaccurate, they aren't laboratory grade, but will give decent enough results for the hobbyist.

If shipping is a major expense, and you are looking for long term use, look into some of the electronic measuring equipment. The only thing that expires is the batteries, my cheap TDS meter has had the same batteries for years.
