i thought a colorful variety would relieve more stress than a mono-colored tank.
What use is a colourful variety if they are not compatable.
What in essence your striving to attain is compatibility and tranquility.
according to my research all is compatible.

I'd go with the Amazon look

What people seem to forget is that the '1" per US gallon' "rule" is actually '1" OF SMALL FISH per US gallon'.
It's a useful "rule" for helping work out a basic stock quantity for when people are coming into the hobby.
It's not a set rule for mature tanks, experienced keepers, or big fish.

well when the angels get to full size they will eat the cardinal tetras. if they havent paired off they will fight.

I doubt if Angelfish once mature (being Cichlids) will make good tank mates for shrimp.
BigC

truckasauras: cardinal tets get to 2", which, according to research, is too big for angels to swallow. i also read that if u start with a baby angel with cardinal tets, by the time it would be big enough to eat them, it would recognize the tets as a friend. if i have 100+ shrimps, i wouldn't think the angels would be able to eat the entire population.

ive seen people who have the scars to prove it. and both methods dont always work. trust me the angels will make light work of the shrimps!

and i have seen people with the pics and videos to prove that they are compatible,

i have read that GBRs are very sensitive. so i am planning a 10 gallon Q-tank. if problems arouse, i will Q-tank the angels and if they continue to indulge on the cardinal tets, i will let my dad have them as he has a tank of his own and really wants angels. i would than replace the angels with more cardinal tets.

does anyone else have any recommendations-i was thinkin that black widows look better than the emperor tets? maybe go with them? or should i split it up to 4 of both kinds. i have seen tanks with a wide variety of fish and they still looked good-but this person also had at least 50 live plants-hmmmmmmm..........maybe i should start researching LPs.

o wait know. i have an idea. if the angels DO attack the other fish, i will replace them with a shoal of BWs

idk about the fish, sounds good to me to replace with something other than the cardinals, as you want a little variety, but not a lot, in there.

however if i were you i would definately look into live plants. i think heavily planted tanks look amazing and would definately be very stress relieving for the viewer...definately not for the caretaker though! haha, maybe look into low light plants? or do lots of research and find plants that won't require much maintenance.

good luck
