Very Urgent! Lumps On Platies

hi

About 5 of my platies have one big lump on thier sides under the skin.

My platies are black and white. The lump is in the black part of their skin.

None of my other fish seem to have them.

I lost two platies to this. I also lost a danio which had what looked like a sore on her side. Not sure if this is related.

The platies lump seem to be under the skin, not bloody like on the skin of the danio.

Any ideas what it can be? It must be contagious.

Like to look at your tank in size in gallons or litres, how many fish in all and which type, and water stats in ammonia,nitrite,nitrate, and ph, are all the fish relaed that have the lumps as it could be genetic, is it a lump and not a swollen belly.
Can you describe the danio symptoms as he sounds he a bad way.

tank is 27 gallon. I am upgrading to a 60 g tank in a few weeks.

About 35 fish.

Stats are good.

The danio had what looked like a sore on the side of her tummy. She was a big eater but lost her appertite when she had this sore. She just swam round and around the tank.

If you have that many fish in the tank is overstocked, might be best to add another filter for back up, you will need a bacterial med for the sore, once they stop eating not good news, they tend not to eat with bacterial infctions.

The danio died. Also I am upgrading to a new tank. I no I am over stocked. I want be able to put them in the new tank for a few weeks!

Could it be drospy?

I heard its not contagious though?

Dropsy a swelling of the tummy, but you said it look like a lump, lumps on the tummy can sometimes rest on the swim bladder causing it to lay to one side.

Anyone else any ideas? I have used melafix for over a week, and the lumps arn't foing down.

Melafix in no good, you need a bacterial med for lumps.

Do you have any names of a medicine i can use?

Don't know your location if in the states maracyn one and two, uk might not be strong enough anti internal bacterial med by interpet.

i have used no 9 internal anti - bacteria from interpet, and does not seem to make any difference. I have also lost a platy.

any ideas?

one of my platies has fin rot too.
