A nice device to own is a 120V inverter which connects to a car battery. Connect it your car while it's running or get a spare deep cycle battery.

I had a power inverter that I used when I went collecting. Best thing out when it comes to transporting fish. Plug it into a cigarette lighter and run a normal air pump off it. When you are in the field, use battery pumps but when you're back at the car, connect the real pump to the power inverter.

....sure makes the trees pretty tho....don't it?

For the major ice storm we got back in 1991, the skies clear in the morning and what a magical sight to see the sunrise thru the trees covered with 1" of ice.

Of course that moment didn't last long as you heard crack as another branch breaks off the tree.
