Upgrading To Bigger Tank...how?

I'm sure I have seen a few threads on this but I can't find them anywhere!

I'm wanting to upgrade from my 21l tank to a 60l one I've just bought off ebay. Just wondering how I go about it. ie how long I should run the new tank before adding our fish, do I add all the fish at once or over a perod of time, etc etc. We have 2 adult mollies and 6 babies(1month old), 1 swordtail, 1 bronze cory and 2 angels - should we move the babies too or leave them in the smaller tank untill they have grown - we are hoping to add some smaller fish to the old tank.

If you move the filter cycled filter over the new tanks will be already cycled so i don't see why you shouldn't be able to move everything in one go... just keep an eye on the water stats

Best to use some of the estabished media from your old filter and transfer it to the new filter. If you can tell us the filter you currently run, then members who have the same can advise. Or if the fish are happy in their original enviroment set up the new tank and run the filter etc untill the stats are stable. I've upgraded many times and used the first method. Less stress on the fish. The fact that you are asking these questions, is so good that you care for fish.

the filter is inbuilt in the tank, I've thrown the original box away so don't know what make or model it is but the filter says r-020 on it if that means anything. the new tank is this http/cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120696229516&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT I'm picking it up tomorrow so don't know if filter is same size etc.

Take some of your media from the filter and place into the filter in the new tank, this will help some

I've picked up the new tank, just waiting to set it up but have a couple of questions. My old filter consisted of one thin piece of sponge, v,v basic. my new tank is a juwel rekord 600 and has a juwel compact filter. the filter media is used by the person I bought the tank off. I presume it is beneficial to use this media as apposed to buying all new media. also, how would i best add my old filter media? just slot it in the jewel filter inbetween sponges? how long should I leave the old media in the new filter? finally how long after changing all my tank over do I need to wait before adding new fish?
