Seriously the black will bring out the jardini's color, as with most other large freshwater fish. If your substrate was darker you could see the scale colors alot better.

Space young man!....you do as you please to ur tank and i will do as i please with mine so SHUT IT ! :p I wanted light coloured sand ..so thats what I have....I want blue background so i will also have that THE END !

When we have put in some hiding spots..like bog wood or some disquised pipe (not deceided yet what we are gonna use)...we are gonna try a 15" fire eel....i really hope it works....fingers crossed for when the time comes :D

i dont know why everyoenis trying to tell you what to do with your tank... :dunno: you seem to be managing it just fine.
Its fine matty lol...space is just kidding about.....its nice to get peoples opinions on things...and yea we are managing it just fine and i am very happy how its all coming together

Hi sam......that background will probs be there till we move..i just dont like a BARE back ov tank.....it really aint a big deal it if i didnt like it it wouldnt be on there i think it looks ok for now. By the way gud luck with ur new tank i will be watchin ur posts :p

I have backgrounds on both my tanks now and and i never have before. Does look good if ya get the right one for your tank!
LOL its ok sam i m not a stalker :no: .....yea well we had to do with what they had, if we get bog wood in there i d defo replace background straight away so you could see it all clearly. :p
 
Awwww he looks so small and harmless in that big tank, hes really coming along nicely now.

BTW space is right, dark sand and black background with a reddish colour lighting tube (the interpet beuaty lamp is the best ive found) will show the colours of better, light sand and blue backgrounds tend to wash the colours out of the fish making them appear silvery and pale.
