How many of the TFF members are heading off to University this year, which are you going to and what are you studying.

I am going Nottingham Trent/London City and studying Civil Engineering.

I'm meant to be going not next year but the year after, I have no idea where I'm going, either staying here in Auckland, or going to London where I can live with one of my sisters And it'll be for Psychology ^^

i'm not going for another 5 years lol, but i'm going to study veterinary science (hopefully) at Liverpool, which is the closest place near me that does the course. why can't Hull do it.

No doubt when the time comes he'll want to be as far away as possible, I lived and still do in Norwich and went to Manchester...great night life there

Good luck all of you, do all the things your parents would cringe at and find yourselves

I still have fond memories even 10 years on (I am such an old fart these days...)

when i went off to college i picked a place two hours away from home, but was also near reltives incase of emergency.
of the course of my time at college i traveled home less as i grew more content with my new home. as for calling family during an emergency, i never did, i sprained my ankle really bad at one point and fell and gave myself a bit of a concussion my freinds drove me to the hospital then.

look i won't lie going away for the first time is scary, espeically if you have a good home life, but the lessons you learn in college in both the class room and your life their will be well worth it, and you will carry that with you long after you graduate.
there is a lot to worry about but i have confidence that you will be fine.

hi, the biggest thing i'm bothered about is who's going to clean my tank when i'm away. and it'd be a lot cheaper if i could live at home, but i can't because hull don't do veterinary science.

The only reason I want to stay close to home is cause im always ill I need looking after lol besides Stoke is in between both my dad and mum

If you're doing Veterinary stuff, don't set any limits as to where you want to go. Not to put you off, but it's hard to get accepted anywhere, let alone somewhere specific. You'll also want to do an awful lot of work experience in lots of different areas.

thanks for the advice. i've already sorted out my work experience with my local vets. i was talking to the vet when one of my dogs was having a booster, she was newly qualified, and said that out of the 200 in her year only 30 were men, and they are desperate for more male vets, so that's a bit of an advantage. and i play piano and violin, which if you pass on grades 6-8 you get points for uni, and i'm doing my grade 6 piano in November, and my grade 6 violin about a year in November. i'm hoping to have grade 8 in both by the time i'm going to uni. and when i've done my work experience (yr 11) i'm going to go into the vets regularly on a weekend to get some experience helping out, and seeing animals being treated. and i'm lvl 8 in maths and science.

well, after i move to GA theres 2 years left for highschool and then off i go back to CA to go to UCDavis to hopefully become a vet, that or pro at tennis , i am about the only one i know at my school at my level that actually has some form of a plan lol
