Unidentified Fry In My Tank... Any Ideas?

Popped back to the shop today.

The only fish that could have been in contact with the plants (which are grown by a supplier with no fish in the tanks) are either Wild rainbows, which they were very excited about the prospect of them having bred in store, OR electric blue rams!!

There were also a couple of botia loaches, which was decided it would be quite unusual if it was them.

So, there are a few choices :D Still, might even be something totally different....

Still swimming about and eating well :)

Yeah, I'd love to see a picture if you can get one. not only am I just interested in this, but it would really help for identification purposes. I bet you anything your LFS has been searching through their plant tank like crazy for more fry. hahaha. So it is suspected to be a rainbow, ram or botia loach? That's neat! watch it be something completely different and then you will never have an explanation for it.... hahahaha. Keep us posted on the little fella.

I found 2 fry in an unused tank that I had left water and plants in. They have grown into Zebra Danios even though I did not have any danios in the tank when it was in use

I almost got an image of the little one... Best i could do!!

Growing up now, seems to be eating flake fine, and presumably anything else tiny that is growing in the tank :)

I once got some plants out of the river to put in our old pond, low and behold, not only did we end up having our goldies breed, but we had a school of minnows and a bunch of baby carp appear...

The fry is now starting to show some characteristics that might help show what it is now!

Will try and get a pic, or draw something to show it later today!

if the fish that it could possibly be are rainbows or electric blue rams i think i would be right in saying the rams would lay eggs on substrate/rock and rainbows would lay eggs on plants, so im guessing a rainbow, thats if it was just out of them two!
interested to see what it turns out to be!

Ohhh it's like a good episode of eastenders and 'who dunnit'

Going to keep my eyes peeled for this one!

awww its really cute, I had a few fry appear after buying some plants & they turned out to be a type of killifish, I still have one of the adults as he is so pretty

Reminds me of a danio. But I don't know anything. Is the "rainbow" fish you speak of a threadfin or a rainbow trout?
