Uk People... Where Do You Get Them?!

Trying to find a betta is doing my head in! They have them at the LFS but they only get in a couple a week and they're always the same sort of thing... dark blue or red veiltails And I can't seem to find anywhere in the UK that sells them online? I looked in the UK and all sellers seem to be in Thailand/US, charging obscene shipping prices I really can't afford.

Can anyone make any suggestions of somewhere I can buy one online in the UK that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

look on ebay for 'Betta Female' or 'Betta Male', you'll find some good quality ones there

They have males at Directtropicals i believe, who are based in S. Wales.

It's not ebay you have to trust. It's the sellers, and once you've looked at the feedback then yes... I would happily trust ebay sellers.

toldumso (I think that is how it's spelled) is quite good. BethK has quite a few fish from him.

Just type in Male or Female Betta and look at what you like the look of and then read the comments from people who've bought stuff from them in the past.

I've always bought my fish from the LFS, my LFS luckily go through phases of having really nice stock in. One LFS has brilliant stock, fancy tails/colours etc, but their stock health is terrible and I refuse to buy stuff from there now.

I bought my Betta on ebay, but he was bred by someone who used to come on here a lot so had a good reputation. Not sure whether he still breeds Bettas though.

Ah, I'm in Suffolk. There's a lfs I go to and they quite regularly have some lovely Bettas in. Always Veiltail, but a nice range of colours, not just the normal red or blue (not that these aren't nice!)
