Two Adjacent Tanks

I have 2 tanks next to each other with exactly the same gravel, Plants, Fish, filters, water changes... they are identical in all aspects, YET!!!... the one has a black furry ball algea growth, and the other one has a healthy green hairy algea growth. How??

Identical light tipe and wattage.

I promise... they are both in one stand (on the top level) containing 6 tanks in the garage. Identical, Identical... each having around 100 blonde guppy fry...

I've had the similar things happen so many times with identical 5 gallon betta tanks, never could figure it out. One tank had such a weird algae problem I just had to move the fish, strip and bleach it, and now it's fine.

if lighting is the same, how about flow around the tank? or cleanliness of substrate (which can lead to even undetectable ammonia spikes) have a look at this..give a nice explanation (causes/remedies) for different algae:

It is the top 2 tanks in this stand that I am talking about, and now in retrospect.... the left one (with the green algea) does have a bit more natural plants in than the one on the right.... maybe that!
