Thinking of adding snails and/ or shrimp to my aquarium. But have no knowlage about them. I am looking for good cleaners (sand and glass) as well as something nice looking that wont over run my tank and eat all my plants.

I got 190l community tank planted with sand. Ph is 7.2

I absolutely love both.  Cherry and Sulawesi shrimp are pretty easy to maintain, both full freshwater and can handle quite a wide variety of water conditions, and both LOVE algae.  That being said I notice that my snails definitely work on the glass moreso than the shrimp, whereas the shrimp seem to prefer to eat it off of the decor.  Both do a good job on the substrate.   Some snails and shrimp will eat certain kinds of plants, you will have to look directly into a species and exactly what that species will eat, what kind of plants do you have?

don't get a rabbit snail then haha, I have one and its destroying EVERYTHING. I put a massive lettuce leaf in and he nibbles it for a day then goes back to my plants. I only have amazon swords lefts it ate everything else :(

Well the shrimp won't clean the glass.
Nerite snails would be good for that job - they also cannot breed in freshwater so you won't become overrun.
As ech0o said above, shrimp more for decor/plants.
Amano Shrimp are good algae busters and cannot breed in fresh water either so also good!

amano shrimp. about 5-8 would be ideal. I have 5 in my 125l. as for snails you cant go wrong with nerites. there are many types and are absolute machines when it comes to cleaning algae of your glass. they also do not breed in fresh water. they might lay eggs but they will never hatch. they need brakish to hatch.

I'd like some of both as I have a community tank so it just adds variety too it and they clean.

My plants are:-
Clinonodium brownei
Alternanthera rosaefolia mini
Limnophila aromatica
Hygrophila polysperma

Mouthful I know !
Liking the look of the Armano shrimp and its Japanese.

I did have Apple snails but i returned them to the pet store because they kept mating and produced to much poop, I recommend Shrimp or Nerite snails because they can't mate in freshwater.

there are some good sources of nerite snails on ebay. a quick search for aquatic snails should come up with the best source. watch out for the postage charges. some are really high.

I'd go for as many Amanos as you can afford, they don't make much impact on the bio-load at all.
Nerites, well as many as you want until you can enjoy seeing them. You might add one you see, and never see it? Where as 5 you will at least see one at all times. All depends on your tank :D
