Question about snails

What are these bugs/snails/things in my tank!

Hello fishfourms! I have recently had a infestation of these "things" in my tank. I first noticed them about a week ago, I tried to remove them all, but now their population has exploded and THEY ARE EVERYWHERE. I couldn't take good pictures of them but I hope a description of them will help...

Although clown loaches are great snail hunters. My LFS uses a group of dwarf chain loaches in their plant sale tank. They are feisty little guys whenever they get fed, so I assume they snap up snails & their eggs when given the opportunity.

I have a snail question please. Are there any other types of snail that assassins won't eat?
