Think I Have Just Killed All My....

About 2 days ago I noticed a few MTS on the surface half out of there shells pointed upwards, what looked to be dead.
I also haven't seen any more come to the surface of the sand or move. Now I have medicated my tank so that might be what has killed them all, but I also have 2 filter shrimp in there and they are fine?

I just hope whatever killed the snails won't kill my fish!

I had 20+ MTS in there, they probably all dead buried under the sand! Should I just leave them and let them decompose? I don't really want to have to empty the tank and sift through loads of sand looking for empty shells!

I used Esha2000 after finding a dead fish with no physical symptoms behind a plant.

ive never used that med im affraid so unsure if it kills snails or not sorry. if a fish is found dead with no obvious reason or signs of illness/disease then the best thing to do after removing the fish is to do a large water change and substrate clean then closely monitor the remaining fish to see if they are ok or acting normal. chucking in meds just in case of disease is not a healthy thing to do as it puts extra stress on the fish and some can harm the bacteria in the filter.... its best to get an exact diagnosis and treat for the specific issue instead of adding a general med for many diseases as these arent always that good at targeting a single problem. water changes can do wonders for the fish and should be the first step before adding meds

TBH i'd be very weary of using that med anyway, they make a lot of claims for cures but no hint as to what is in it?

Thanks for the quick reply guys.

I did do a large 50% water change immediately after finding the dead fish. It had been in the aquarium for a week, added with the other 7 Tetras. Have been monitoring the water for a mini-cycle but they are all 0.

I've used the Esha2000 on my Black Moor which I got about 2 months ago. He developed bad fungus on his head and this treatment cleared it up in 3 days without harming the other Oranda in the tank.

At the moment all the fish are fine and so are the two shrimp.

Esha 2000 is fine with snails- ive used it a few times over the years and the snails are fine.

after every time a fish dies you shouldn't medicate the tank. only medicate when you absolutely need to. fish can also die from stress, old age, being beaten up, ect. and medication would be useless and in fact have very negative effects in that case.
